    A busy month indeed!

Actually, it’s been two months, to the day, and things have been hopping steadily in the studio. While everyone outside of my Moonology groups rail against Mercury Retrograde and its usual chaotic effects in the more vulnerable parts of our lives in communication and mechanica, I have been taking advantage of it to redo, revise, refresh and renew old earring and ear cuff designs.

There are so many new and renewed retro designs in The Ears Have It Etsy store, in fact, there are too many to name here, so I am going to leave it to a few picture galleries to tell the story. Hopefully they will peruse the now 90 designs available – many of them customizable with new colors and semi-precious stone choices to suit all tastes. Be sure to send me an Etsy convo message if there is something you would like customized ahead of your order if you don’t see your favorite option available. Chances are I will have something in my bead stash to fit your needs.

Crystal & Color Associations for Each Day of the Week

There is a harmony I often feel compelled to follow when working with specific crystal & color associations for earrings and ear cuffs in my shop The Ears Have It. It seems natural to work with the color black on Saturday, White on Monday, Red on Tuesdays and so on. Stones and crystals follow suit in this fashion as well – Saturday is a day for working with my pewter charms and pairing them with Hematite, Obsidian and Jet – all dark stones associated with the darker shades and the ruling planet for this day – Saturn.

I thought it’d be fun to share my reference chart for this. It’s taken directly from my Book of Shadows and was updated just today. I would enjoy hearing what you all think of the pairing for each weekday and what your experience has been, if any, in their application and use and how effective following them has been for you. Please feel free to drop a comment here or contact us through the website or on our social media links here. Enjoy!

Symbolism and Attributes for Sunday – Carnelian

    Return of the Sun

In 2013 I posted a brief mention of the uses and qualities in the semi-precious stone carnelian. I mentioned some basic associations with chakras and the body’s system. Looking back, I see it was only a quick, incomplete overview. Let’s go over some more information and to go with a new design.

Back then I paired carnelian with a vibrant gold sun charm dangling from an ear cuff. I have reintroduced this powerful healing stone in the Etsy store for all to enjoy today in a new form.

Sunday’s Pick and Offerings – Carnelian Healing Sun Goddess

Today’s listings in my Etsy store featured the Carnelian Healing Sun Goddess Series. I chose to list these on a Sunday because that’s the day sacred to the Sun (SUNday) and because of the fiery orange/white color of these beautiful stones I discovered in a bead shop long ago. They are paired with Gold – it being the Sun’s metal, of course.

Carnelian is a healing stone, according to the renowned pagan author and Wiccan practitioners Scott Cunningham & David Harrington in their wonderful book, Spell Crafts – Creating Magical Objects.

For those who practice Yoga and pay attention to their Chakras, The Chakra Bible has much use for Carnelian. It is used to balance the Muladhara, the Sacral Chakra and can be used to reduce back pain. It also assists with rheumatism, arthritis and kidneys to balance water regulation of the body. It is associated with the Hara/Navel chakra’s orange/yellow colors, thus helping with digestion and absorption of nutrients.

Regarded as a protective stone, Celtic warriors carried it mounted in jewelry or their armor to accompany them across the Great Divide or Afterlife.

I love the books I found in my library to help do the research – the are fascinating! Spell Crafts and The Chakra Bible are invaluable resources for those interested in Chakras and/or color magick. They can be found at your favorite online bookseller.
